The game was later ported to the Game Boy Advance with extra stages, though all the songs based directly on the original movie were replaced with new music, possibly because of copyright reasons. Throughout each level there are various diamonds (collecting all within a level also unlocking bonus stages), with players able to unlock an extra challenge if they collect 70 red diamonds. Throughout the level, Aladdin can collect apples to throw at enemies and golden scarabs which unlock bonus stages. Similarly following the movie's storyline, players control Aladdin as he jumps on enemies, vaults off stumps and performs various acrobatic feats to get through levels.
Although the game is still a side-scrolling platformer, it is significantly different in both presentation and gameplay.

Maybe SMS will get there in a later update but if they only had time to emulate two platforms then getting Gameboy titles and Capcom's entirely different SNES Aladdin would be the right choice.Aladdin (アラジン Arajin?) for the SNES was developed and published by Capcom separately from Virgin's version, since Capcom still held Disney licensing rights for Nintendo consoles at the time of the film's release. It is still missing the Sega Master System platform but prioritizing Nintendo platforms gives them more variety as SMS game design directly copied from Genesis for multi-plats ( I think The Jungle Book is almost the same game while Aladdin suffered more substantial downgrades as expected nevermind TJB are very different games between 8-bit and 16-bit). Though it'd also be hilarious if they delisted the older version without even updating it. So I can also see The Jungle Book being paid DLC (for the pre-existing title) as they have the audience for it. But even if I don't care for paying Skyrim prices for a pair of Genesis roms, enough people did or else they wouldn't be further developing it.
